CHRISTMAS DAY

So my first Christmas Day in Sydney was a bit of a wash out with torrential downpours all day long! I started out my day at home with a crazy family Skype session complete with present opening and then went to a friend's very cosy and Christmassy flat for a boozy breakfast. Everyone said that the grey skies outside only added to the Christmas feeling as that's what we're used to at home!
Although it was raining it wasn't cold at all so I still got to wear my planned outfit (just sans bikini underneath!). It's a bit lucky that we had the foresight to spend Christmas Eve at the beach when it was 30 degrees and blue skies, so we could get the obligatory bikini/santa hat photos (see my last post!).

Hope everyone had a wonderful day. It was strange for me not doing the family thing, but I had a blast with my friends and fellow Christmas orphans!

OUTFIT: PLAYSUIT

Just a couple of the comments by the guys I was with when I wore this outfit the other night - "Woah is that one of those dresses with shorts built in?!" and "Mate if you think she looks tall, take a closer look at those trainers they've got a HIDDEN WEDGE!".
It's great to know my friends can appreciate Marant too.

I said I'd go back for this dress in all colours and I managed to bag the black colour for $20. Bargain. I was too late to buy the neon yellow colour but it reminded me it's been ages since I whipped out these socks.

STACK

My Sister got me the most awesome birthday present - a subscription to Stack. If you haven't heard of it, it's a service whereby you subscribe and they send you each month a different independent magazine from around the world, completely at random.

The November magazine is the gorgeous publication Wrap which comes complete with pull out wrapping paper. It arrived while my Sister was in Bali, a mere 6 hours flight away from me (compared to the normal 22 hrs+), so pretty timely. The best thing about a gift like this is it's a gift that keeps on giving. A little reminder of the person who gave it to you every time you get a new delivery.

SS13: DRIES

Trawling my way back through the SS13 shows and can't believe I didn't get around to posting about the Dries Van Noten show. If you missed it here are my favourite looks...which are, you know, the vast majority of the collection. It's like a sophisticated take on grunge or an unbuttoned take on glamour, which ever way round you want to look at it. I'm really loving the high waisted pencil silhouette right now.

LATE NIGHTS NEON LIGHTS

I'm back from my work trip around the world - Sydney to Los Angeles, LA to London, London to Hong Kong, HK to China, China to HK, HK to Sydney. 4 flights, 2 buses, 4 countries, 3 time zones. I am surprised I'm still standing and not jetlagged at all. I am now a pro at the long haul flight.

I will definitely share some pictures from my trip (once I have trawled through them all!), but in the meantime an outfit. This dress is my favourite favourite at the moment. No method of taking pictures does it justice because it's so so bright. A woman stopped me in the street last time I wore it to tell me the colour looked amazing - that bright! As soon as I get a chance I'm going to buy it in black and neon yellow.
