BIRTHDAY

Making cards has become a bit of a weekend habit lately, this weekend it was my friend's 30th. I wanted it to incorporate my favourite picture of us and I was walking around with the design in my head for days until I scribbled it down on a post-it note after work one night. I'm quite happy with how it turned out!

MARATHON UPDATE!

So so so 100% proud of my Mum who finished the marathon in 3hrs 28 mins, a fantastic achievement, putting her just 17th in her age category! The day was amazing and so inspiring. I started at Evelyn St in Deptford which is my Dads neck of the woods from way way back and the 8 mile marker. Mum was looking strong, beaming and giving high fives. We move on to Jamaica Rd in Bermondsey, approx 11 miles along the route where I got chatting to another spectator who was really impressed by mum and excited about our dedication to support her along the way! After cheering her on there - she was still smiling - Dad and my Sister moved on to the 24 mile mark on Embankment and I stationed myself in my usual spot in front of Big Ben ready to cheer her on for the last mile. By this point the smile had gone, there was only concentration on her face! It all paid off, what a fantastic result.

MARATHON

Just a very quick post to say my Mum is running the London Marathon today for the 4th time. I couldn't be prouder :) Last year she finished it in just over 3.5 hours, which is 28th in her age group, a fantastic achievement. I am going down to support at Evelyn St, Jamaica Road and the last mile, right in front of Big Ben, it's always such an amazing atmosphere.

If you're down there today, please look out for my Mum and give her a cheer!

NEWNESS

I went to try on a few things from the H&M Garden Collection today and was disappointed to find most of the things I went for were sold out/not stocked in the store I was in and two of the tops I thought were woven, were actually jersey. I did come away with this dress though which for £14.99 is practically free. I'm a sucker for anything smock shaped.

OUTFIT BUILDING

I HATE packing with a passion. It's not so bad for holidays, I just bring everything I can fit in a suitcase that is suitable for the climate (probably why I paid $80 for excess baggage flying back from Jamaica last year. Fail), but I cannot pack for long weekends.

This weekend I decided to employ a different approach, outfit building so I only bring what I need. It kind of worked. I managed to pack only one pair of shoes, whereas I have previously been known to pack three different pairs for a three day weekend risking permanent back injury with my overloaded weekend bag.

Sunday night - sequin top (sample), denim shorts (Urban Outfitters), Saturday day - dungarees (vintage), stripe body (river island), navy over knee socks (asos), Tuesday - basic sweat top (asos), khaki shorts (h&m), tan wedges (asos). I figure I will wear pyjamas the rest of the time.

Not gonna lie, I did throw in a handful of tops and an extra skirt 'just in case'.
