PARTYING VICE STYLE

So I went to the launch of Vice Magazine's new fashion website, Vice Style last Wednesday. My lack of decent pictures are testament to the fact I had a good time. I couldn't tell you much more about it except I spent the night in a hot sweaty mess and didn't even get a pic of my new shoes, which returned home looking like half the contents of the warehouse floor was smeared all over them. More on them once I've hosed them down.

I didn't get a decent outfit pic but my partner in crime and plus one Vic looked amaze

They had these immense swings which I didn't dare try until the small hours of the morning. In hindsight not the best plan, since by that point everyone was drunk and pushing me really hard seemed like a really fun idea (for them). I spent a good ten minutes fearing for my life and trying not to kick people in the face and was henceforth referred to as 'swing girl!'.

My sequin crop top is ASOS and my wooden tiger ring which you can just about see I found in my local. I never wear it there in case its original owner spots me (loser)

FATHERS DAY

My Dad is the joker of the family so I knew he'd appreciate a card showing his face throughout the years. My fave is 80s Dad with flat top haircut (top right)!!

SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER TIMES!

Blogging this morning from our little piece of heaven in Angel which is our minute balcony. We managed to have a BBQ with 4 people on here last night!

HINDSIGHT

You know when you see something and want it but you convince yourself you don't need it, so you don't get it but then you see someone else wearing it and wish you bought it yourself?

Ok. Having that moment right now.

INSPIRING ART

I went to the UCA Epsom Pre-Degree End of Year show a couple of weeks ago. I didn't photograph much because I was too busy enjoying their excellent work. But I found this piece was particularly amusing (I nearly wrote "it made me LOL"!!). Sadly did not get the artist's name though :(

LAZY DAYS AND SUNDAYS

Today I...

1. Tried and failed to buy a nice Father's Day card and conceded I will have to make a card as I have done for every recent occasion. Hallmark is not what it used to be!

2. Wore my lazy sunday outfit I seem to default to a lot when the weather's saying bare legs & sunnies, but the cool breeze is saying something with a sleeve

Topman Denim Shirt (studded by me), Vintage bodycon skirt, Limted Edition Ray Bans I bought on a (expensive) whim a couple of weeks ago

3. Got really excited about new stationery and visiting my favourite magazine stand (still mourning Borders)

BOYFRIEND DRESSING

The website is only a week or two young, but I'm loving the oversized and somewhat androgynous shapes from Proportion.

PLAYLIST

I swear half the fun of creating Spotify playlists is thinking up wonderfully pun-tastic names. I'm currently swotting for Lovebox*, so this is what I'm listening to this week. Best taken with a heavy dose of sunshine.

Intro - The XX
Always Like This - Bombay Bicycle Club
End Credits - Chase & Status
Holiday - Dizzee Rascal
Heart Skipped a Beat - The XX
Skinny Love - Bon Iver
Emergency Contraception Blues - Bombay Bicycle Club
Guns and Horses - Ellie Goulding
Crystalised - The XX
Toothpaste Kisses - The Maccabees
You've Got The Love - Florence and the Machine

Click here to open in Spotify: To the tune of June

*does everyone do this before a festival/gig? It's nice to know the words!

CELINE

Love this silhouette. Totes wish I never threw out that poncho right now

SUN!

When I came back from India I decided I needed to make more of an effort to get out of the country more, so I'm excited to have confirmed my next holiday today! Five blissful days in Alghero, Sardinia. Sun sea, sand ...and a capsule wardrobe as I won't be checking any baggage which I'm slightly alarmed about, but putting to the back of my mind for the time being.

Count down to August please!

SOMEWHERE

I wasn't a big fan of Lost in Translation but I loved the Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette. Something tells me I'm going to love Sofia Coppola's latest. Phoenix on the soundtrack? Yes please.

OUTFIT

A recentish outfit I've been re-wearing. A guy high fived me on Friday night for wearing a dungarees!

Dungarees - Vintage
Striped Body - River Island
Moccasins - Minnetonka
Military Shirt - Vintage from ASOS Reclaimed

Can I just say a body and a dungarees are not a good idea when you're planning to drink pints. Never again.

CHARIDEE

Holidays and sunny days plus living a life of excess = an uncontrollably messy living space. Decided to fix that this morning and 3 hours later, it looks a lot better. I thought I'd take 5 mins to tell you about this new thing I've signed up to with Oxfam. Basically I get a bag from work, I fill it up and tag it with my own personal donor number and take it back into work. Oxfam collect the bags once a week and every so often email me with an update on how much money the sale of my stuff has raised and what that money could do. I always give bags of stuff away to charity anyway but this scheme is great because
1. It's super convenient
2. Oxfam make 28p in every pound more because they can claim gift aid on the sales of all my donated stuff

To find out more you just need to go here.

So after I bagged up all my old clothes, I still had a huge pile of magazines that has been threatening to over take my room, so I decided to go through them all and pull out the things I liked, before commiting the pile to the recycle bin. It wasn't until I got to the last one I realised I left my scrapbook at my parents house, so sticking down will have to wait for another time, both my noticeboards are already full!

NEW BARNET

So before I went to India, I underwent a little bit of a transformation. I figured it was about time I tried "the weave" and my hair was desperately crying out for a break from my constant straightening and blowdrying. It certainly made life easier when I was in Goa with only a backpack, but the novelty hasn't worn off. I'm totally hooked I think!

BACK

Apologies for the long hiatus, I think I've been in a post India daze since I got back nearly 3 weeks ago. Mumbai and Goa couldn't be more different from each other but both were equally amazing. It is impossible to put into words, so here are a few photos from my disposable and there are quite a few more on my Flickr.
